Leo.



Not to be left out - at 3 years, 4 months Leo is still very much the center of our family. He's into Legoes and music and has been having fun working at his "desk" in his room - practicing letters and drawing in his notebooks. This week he's been really into question marks, exclamation points and the number 24, which he finds on street signs "open 24 hours" and punches into our microwave (24 seconds) and his calculator. He told me: "Mamma, when Rosie cries - exclamation point!" Hell yes.

We have wonderful conversations in the dark before bed where he asks me how to spell things, processes that days adventures and looks ahead till tomorrow. His transition to being three years old and probably Rosie's arrival have brought on new fears - he's still getting used to being around other kids and we've had lots of meltdowns about the loud noises made by fellow three year old boys and an occasional uncle. He's very afraid of dinosaur and lion roars - He's working hard at overcoming these fears and goes around the house practicing his own loud roars. He's much more used to Rosie - her noises and crazy baby ways. He calls her "Ro-Ro" as coined by cousin Ravi and yells out "snorty baby!" when she burbs and snorts and "poop!" when she does. He sings to her and hugs and her all day long and also does these hilarious narrations of his life to her. "Ro-Ro, this is how you eat edamame ... you can't eat edamame because you're just a little baby."
