Rosie.



At thirteen months Rosie's language is just exploding as is her ability to understand us. It's really exciting. She has many words - and is imitating and learning new ones every second. A few that come to mind - ball, duck, dog, cat, frog, umbrella, shoes, socks, nose, teeth, tractor, flower, baby, blueberry, glasses, banana. Her favorite word this week is "Water" which she articulates very carefully and clearly "Wa-Der." she calls leo some version of "la la" or "la lo" and she tries to say "liz" "phyllis" and "Jo." She can follow our commands, was very proudly handing Leo the pieces he needed for his puzzle today - when I tell her something is hot she blows on it and can point to my nose and ears and teeth. It's amazing that she can all of sudden understand us. She can give kisses and rasberries on command and Leo often runs up to her, pulls his shirt up and says "Rosie! Give me a futzaphone!" - she kisses and says "Mua!" She is walking - can take many steps when she chooses too - but mostly crawls when she needs to get somewhere fast. We were all home sick together today and Rosie and Leo were like little puppies on the floor together - rolling around, cuddling, crawling after one another, and kissing each other. They find weird games to play together and Leo delights in her goofy baby "squirmyness" He wants her to try all his food and is really interested in her developments.
